A tribute to all Flemish fishermen who lost their lives during WW-II, when their vessel hit a sea-mine. During the German invasion May 40, many fled to England, but when passing Dunkirk they participated in the evacuation of British troops (Operation Dynamo). The remaining fishing fleet saved our population from starvation by catching huge amounts of herring. 75 Years later fishing is still a hazardous business, mines, bombs are still a daily threat when landed in their nets.
